Internationaler Museumstag / International Museum Day

Letzten Sonntag habe ich mal wieder einen Tag im Museum verbracht. Da fühle ich mich ja ziemlich zu Hause.

Der Anlass war der Internationale Museumstag im Alamannenmuseum in Ellwangen. Passend zum Beginn einer Sonderausstellung stand der Museumstag unter dem Motto der Kelten.

Last Sunday I spent yet another day in the museum. I feel pretty much at home there 🙂

The reason this time was the International Museum Day in the Alamannenmuseum in Ellwangen.  They just started a special exhibition on Celts and so this was the motto for the day.

Lebensmittel der Kelten / Food of the Celts

Mein Part war  es, Informationen über die Ernährung der Kelten und zum Färben von Wolle mit Pflanzen zu vermitteln. Außerdem habe ich noch ein wenig zur Handarbeitstechnik des Nadelbindens erzählt.

Alle anderen Handarbeitstechniken habe ich ausgelassen, weil das von anderen sehr gut abgedeckt wurde.

My part was to give information on diet in celtic times and on naturally dyed wool. I also had a little information on the old technique of nalbinding.

I skipped all other textile techniques because  some other people there covered this very well.

Es waren auch noch andere Gruppen da, die zu verschiedenen Aspekten aus dem Leben der Kelten erzählen und zeigen konnten. Es gab noch Bronzeguss, Münzprägung, Spinnen, Weben oder Schmuck

There were more groups to explain and show aspects of celtic life like bronze casting, coinage, spinning, weaving or jewellery
